Marcus and Bobbi Lemonis Host Inaugural Holiday Candy Wonderland Extravaganza
Sweet Pete's Candy to host inaugural Holiday Candy Wonderland Extravaganza on Sunday, December 5th. The event presented by Bobbi and Marcus Lemonis, will treat 700 local underprivileged children, ages 5 to 14, to a day filled with candy, ice cream, pictures with Santa Claus and holiday excitement. Children will make candy canes, fill candy boxes, indulge in holiday confections and celebrate the season in the Sweet Pete's candy mansion.
"The holiday season is a time of giving, and it's no different for my wife and me. These are children who probably would not be getting much for the holidays, and in these challenging economic times we wanted to provide a really special day to these deserving local youth," said Marcus Lemonis, philanthropist, entrepreneur and reality TV host of the upcoming HGTV show, The Renovator, which is currently filming in the Jacksonville market and tentatively slated to premiere in 2022.
The extravaganza gift from Bobbi and Marcus, hopes to serve up to 700 local children, and will host families throughout the day. Peter Behringer, founder of Sweet Pete's, is excited to launch the new event and hopes to see it grow each year. "It is very rewarding to give back to the local communities that have supported us over the years. Many of these children attend school field trips at Sweet Pete's but are not able to share the experience with their families. I am very grateful to Bobbi and Marcus for proposing this event and providing us the opportunity to bring holiday cheer to some very special Jacksonville children."
Family Services of North Florida, Sulzbacher Center and Kids Hope Alliance are partnering with Sweet Pete's and the Lemonis' to invite families to the event.
