Manassas City Public Schools Partners with UBTECH to Protect Students and Staff with ADIBOT Sanitizing Robots

UBTECH, the global leader in robotics, today announces a partnership with Manassas City Public Schools in Virginia to keep its students and staff safe and healthy throughout the 2021 - 2022 school year. Manassas City Public Schools is deploying robots from UBTECH armed with cutting edge sanitization technology to lead their efforts to eliminate the spread of COVID-19 and other harmful pathogens.

The ADIBOT disinfecting units utilize hospital-grade UV-C technology to quickly and effectively sanitize every surface the light can reach. Manassas City Public Schools is putting their 40 ADIBOT units to work alongside their custodial staff, nightly sanitizing every single classroom after the staff has used EPA approved cleaners. The UV-C technology inactivates 99.9% of all viruses, bacteria and harmful pathogens including COVID-19, influenza and MRSA. One ADIBOT unit can disinfect a room in a matter of minutes and eliminates the need for harsh chemicals that could be harmful to students and staff.

Manassas City Public Schools began searching for a solution to cleaning and sanitizing that was safe for all students, staff and custodians, completely sanitized all surfaces and spaces and was easy to implement. They found UV-C technology to be the right fit and thoroughly vetted several vendors that offer the technology. District leaders ultimately chose to partner with UBTECH's ADIBOT system because the units are easy for custodial staff to operate, meet and exceed key disinfection measurements and have the most safety features available on the market today.

"Our main goal is that our students have the safest possible instructional environment, and we have done absolutely everything possible to make that happen," said Andy Hawkins, Executive Director of Finance and Operations at Manassas City Public Schools. "Adding the ADIBOT units to our superior cleaning efforts allows us to truly and completely sanitize classrooms and other spaces. Sprayers do not allow you to sanitize surfaces covered in books, papers, keyboards or other electronic devices where viruses may linger and the chemicals can be extremely harmful for children. When we deploy an ADIBOT in a room, we know in five minutes or less it will be completely sanitized and safe for children and teachers."

The UV-C technology utilized in ADIBOT robots is well proven as it has been used for decades in healthcare operating rooms and municipal facilities like water filtration plants to disinfect against harmful bacteria and viruses. UBTECH is the first global robotics company to make the technology accessible and affordable for schools and organizations across the country.

"Like Manassas City Public Schools, UBTECH is passionate about providing tools that make spaces safer for learning, working and playing. We are honored to partner with district leaders and support their efforts to keep everyone safe and healthy and learning in-person this year. And we're proud to deliver the highest quality disinfecting robots and peace of mind to schools across the country like Manassas, so they can focus on education." said John Rhee, senior vice president and general manager, UBTECH North America.

The ADIBOT units champion Manassas City Public Schools' unprecedented efforts to keep its schools safe and clean. In addition to deploying the UV-C disinfecting robots, the district has optimized its HVAC system including upgraded air filters, and a system within the ductwork that uses UV-C light to purify the air circulating throughout the buildings.
