Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Appoints Caroline Alder-Smurthwaite as Head of Casualty, UK
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) today announced that it has named Caroline Alder-Smurthwaite, Head of General Casualty, UK.
"Caroline has more than two decades of underwriting experience spanning a wide range of customers, including corporate and large multinational captive accounts," said Hilary Browne, Head of Casualty, UK & Europe. "She will play a pivotal leadership role in bringing BHSI's bespoke coverage, financial stability and service excellence to customers across the UK and around the globe, and it is my pleasure to welcome her to our UK team."
Caroline comes to BHSI from Chubb, where she spent 12 years in increasingly senior positions, most recently London Corporate Casualty Manager. She began her career on the claims side of the business at Gerling Insurance. Caroline earned a BA with Honours in European Studies, International Business, from the University of Central Lancashire.
