Fivetran Expands Enterprise Data Integration with Release of New Data Source Connectors

Fivetran, the leading automated data integration provider, today announced the addition of new data source connectors for IBM, Oracle and SAP, accelerating large enterprise organizations' move to the modern data stack. The pre-built connectors add to the more than 150 maintained 24/7 by Fivetran, ensuring data engineering teams never need to waste time building and maintaining data pipelines. Mission critical data, stored in these databases, can now be efficiently extracted from their source, loaded into cloud data warehouses and lakes, and reliably managed for instant availability to support data-driven decision making.

"Enterprise data teams just don't have the time to build, manage and maintain the enormous number of data integrations that are being requested. We see it as our mission at Fivetran to eliminate this burden, freeing up invaluable time by providing an extensive library of easy-to-use, fully managed and maintained data connectors," said Fraser Harris, vice president of product at Fivetran. "Because we observe tens of thousands of customer connector configurations and manage more than one million syncs daily, we're able to apply our insight and continuous pipeline optimizations across all of our 1600-plus customers, providing added value for all."

In today's announcement, Fivetran strengthens its position by managing data integration for enterprise databases including support for IBM Db2 on Linux, Unix and Windows, and SAP HANA. These connectors feature all the end-to-end automated replication capabilities that Fivetran provides natively, such as fully-managed maintenance, automatic schema management, failure recovery, and incremental data updates. Additionally, a new connector for Oracle Database enables log-based change data capture for replicating Oracle RAC environments. Fivetran utilizes Oracle's native Flashback technology to copy incremental updates from source to destination. Fivetran will continue its support for the enterprise with plans to roll out additional enterprise connectors in the coming months.

"We're in the midst of a tremendous shift in enterprise data management with analytics capable of reimagining entire organizations," Harris added. "Fivetran is instrumental in enterprises' digital transformations and modern data stack strategies, working with all leading data warehouses and lake houses, such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift and Databricks, to affect these shifts quickly and reliably."

Whereas traditional data integration architectures employ an ETL approach (extract, transform, load) requiring time-consuming, brittle complex coding and routine maintenance, Fivetran has flipped the final two steps to automate the data centralization process, enabling mission-critical data to reach every corner of an organization more efficiently and cost effectively, reducing time to insight and increasing the speed of data-driven decisions. With superior ELT technology, Fivetran is seeing strong demand among enterprise customers, including global brands such as Autodesk, BJ's Restaurants, ClassPass, Conagra Brands, Databricks, DocuSign, Forever 21, Lime, Square, Udacity and Urban Outfitters.

According to a Gartner report, Market Analysis: Database Management Systems, Worldwide Report, published Aug. 10, 2020: "Gartner estimates that the DBMS market grew by 18.2% from 2018 to 2019, to $55.2 billion ? its largest increase ever, as organizations continued their investment in new data and analytics projects focused on growing their digital capabilities. It is now forecast to be a $100 billion market by 2024."
