Alice read about the draw results in the newspaper the day after the draw.
With her eyes riveted on the winning combination, she immediately recognized the numbers that her and her husband have been playing for the past few years.
Without even knowing how much money they'd won, she quickly went to wake up her husband. She told him that they'd maybe won $1,000,000.
The couple, who were very excited at that point, found out that they'd won $14,061,516 when they called Loto-Québec. "We couldn't believe it!" Alice laughed, a few days before they came to claim their prize.
The winners, who are retired, say they have every intention of enjoying their windfall with family.
