Soapy Joe's Car Wash to Support San Diego's Veteran Community

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 28, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Soapy Joe's, the beloved locally-owned, family operated car wash, is offering free washes to all active military and former service members on Veterans Day and distributing a "camo themed" version of their signature air freshener at all 13 locations throughout the county. On November 11th, 2020, the express car wash will open its doors to all military personnel and treat them to their signature Magic Joe wash to show support for local service members and veterans.

"At Soapy Joe's, over 25% of our Operations leaders are veterans," said Isaac Lee, SVP of Operations and retired Marine Corps Lt. Colonel. "Supporting the 100,000 active military and 300,000 veterans that call San Diego home is near and dear to our hearts."

In addition, Soapy Joe's is committed to donating $5,000 to Support the Enlisted Project (STEP) and invites the community to assist in the effort. In advance of Veteran's Day, Soapy Joe's is accepting donations for their long-standing partner online and at pay kiosks, where customers may add $1 to their wash purchase.

"As a Veteran myself, I am always encouraged to see companies give back. As the CEO of Support The Enlisted Project, we have enjoyed our partnership with Soapy Joe's and can't wait to see the line of clean cars on Veterans Day. We are grateful they are choosing to support our local military families in crisis," shared Tony Teravainen, CEO & Co-Founder of STEP.

STEP's goal is to "build financial self-sufficiency among junior active duty enlisted members and recently discharged enlisted Veterans and their families facing financial crisis through counseling, education, and grants." For more information on STEP, go to stepsocal.org.

Soapy Joe's opened its 12th and 13th locations this year, both serving military communities: Fallbrook and Sabre Springs. Fallbrook Manager and Marine Corps veteran, Estevan Ramirez, joined Soapy Joe's upon exiting the service and describes Soapy Joe's: "After leaving the military, I was looking for my next opportunity. The transition to civilian life is hard," he said. "At Soapy Joe's the leadership hierarchy is similar to what I'm used to, and the coaching is a huge plus. I started as a regular employee, moved my way up and I'm on my third site as a Manager in Fallbrook. I've definitely found my home away from home."

Stop by any Soapy Joe's location November 2nd - November 11th for a camo-themed air freshener, to donate to STEP, or watch their Veteran's Day video for more about Soapy Joe's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfwlTvBwE5Q
