Canada Health Infoway and Aware MD Partner to Advance e-Prescribing in Canada

TORONTO, Oct. 20, 2020 /CNW/ - Canada Health Infoway (Infoway) and Aware MD are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement that will give more Canadians access to e-prescribing.

PrescribeIT^® is Infoway's national e-prescribing service that enables prescribers and pharmacists to electronically create, receive, renew and cancel prescriptions, while improving overall patient care through secure clinician messaging.

Under the agreement, Aware MD will integrate its Cerebrumtm electronic medical record (EMR) with PrescribeIT's solution infrastructure, with targeted completion by the second half of 2021. The specialists who use the Cerebrumtm solution will be able to send prescriptions electronically from their EMR to the patient's pharmacy of choice, and pharmacies will be able to request prescription renewals electronically from the patient's specialist. Aware MD provides services to 400 cardiologists and radiologists in 104 clinics across Ontario, who in turn provide care to more than two million patients.
