CCK Law Announces Natasha Cowling as Winner of the 2020 Child of an American Veteran Scholarship

PROVIDENCE, R.I., June 26, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick LTD is proud to announce the 2020 Child of an American Veteran Scholarship winner?Natasha Cowling.

Children of military personnel can grow up enduring stretches of time without seeing their parent who is serving. As a firm committed to fighting for the rights of U.S. military veterans, Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick LTD feels it is important to acknowledge these sacrifices. The 2020 Child of an American Veteran Scholarship aims to thank such individuals for their selfless contributions by helping them pursue their dreams via higher education.

As the winner of the 2020 scholarship, Ms. Cowling receives $1,500 to apply to her tuition costs at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, which she is starting in the Fall of 2020. There she plans to pursue a degree in Geography, specializing in Geographical Analysis and Information Systems (GIS).

Why She Was Chosen as This Year's Scholarship Recipient

The Scholarship Committee found that Ms. Cowling embodied the spirit of why CCK created the scholarship for children whose parent(s) served in the military.

"The experience she describes growing up in a military family demonstrates her remarkable resilience and ability to adapt, despite any adversity she faced," said Robert Chisholm, a founding partner of Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick LTD, representing disabled veterans since 1990. "She holds the utmost respect for her father, who suffered traumatic injuries during his service in the Army, and she embraces the values by which he lives.

"Natasha applied her energy to her academic studies, which conveys an unwavering determination not to let any obstacle block the path to her dreams. It's clear that her experiences growing up in a military family have deepened her appreciation for what it means to sacrifice and emerge stronger for it," Chisholm added.
