Victims of Anti-Black Violence: Let's not remember them by how they DIED, but how they LIVED

TORONTO, June 8, 2020 /CNW/ - As the disturbing trend continues of Black people dying due to the colour of their skin in a system rife with inequity and discrimination, it's all too easy to focus on the horrific ways that Black people die. What's too often forgotten, though, are the ways these victims lived and the legacies they leave behind.

In Murdered for their Melanin: It's More Than Just a Meme, Casey Palmer, blogger Canadian Dad, takes a popular meme about things that white people can do, without fear of persecution, and flips it ? focusing on the lives these 40 Black people led before they met their ends, not just the headlines and action that came after.

To find out more about Murdered for their Melanin and the meme that brought it together, read the blog post, "Murdered for their Melanin: An Infographic on Black Lives Taken far too Soon." over at Casey Palmer, Canadian Dad. As stated in the infographic, "Just think about if they were your brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, daughters, sons and friends. Because they were someone's."
