Micro Lab Farms' "GrowPods" Allow Businesses and Entrepreneurs to Rapidly Ramp Up Production To Meet Increasing Demand

LOS ANGELES, March 24, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Micro Lab Farms, a premier provider of automated indoor micro-farms, said that its GrowPods can allow growers, business owners and entrepreneurs to rapidly ramp up to meet crop shortages, with seed-to-harvest in as little as 8-weeks.

ABC News reported that cannabis shops are trying to keep up with increased demand as legal purveyors from Oakland to Denver to New York have been reporting long lines of customers outside their shops, similar to those recently seen at entrances to grocery stores and pharmacies.

"We've had both lines of cars and lines of people wrapping around our buildings," Steve DeAngelo, co-founder of Harborside dispensaries, told ABC News.

CBS News reported that in Colorado, "The cannabis industry is one of a few which has seen a surge in sales."

The Mercury News reported, "cars were lined up around the parking lot with people waiting to place orders and pick up supplies," at local dispensaries.

NPR reported that this surge in sales is because, "dispensaries will be allowed to operate as essential businesses, just as pharmacies are allowed to do."

However, the rush to meet this increased demand is complicated. No outdoor grows are possible in much of the country right now due to inclement weather, and indoor grows are very expensive to start and operate.

Micro Lab Farms has a solution. With the company's unique "GrowPods," growers can go from planting to harvesting in as little as 8 weeks.

These unique automated systems grow plants indoors under fully controlled conditions. By tuning the growing environment to the exact needs of the plant, and using automation technologies, GrowPods can achieve yields many times higher than conventional agriculture, 365-days a year, and without pesticides or herbicides.

GrowPods make it possible for growers to achieve high yields on a small footprint. Growers can produce exponentially more product on a much smaller piece of land. GrowPods can be placed virtually anywhere, including in more densely populated areas or previously inhospitable conditions. The cleanest, purest crops can be locally-grown, all year long.
