The Tech Interactive offers free, easy activities to do at home
SAN JOSE, Calif., March 20, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- The Tech Interactive has launched a free resource for easy, fun science and engineering learning at home. The Tech Interactive at Home offers simple, engaging tutorials in English and Spanish that help parents and educators teach hands-on engineering and problem-solving.
"We know many parents were quickly turned into at-home teachers in the last few weeks," said Gretchen Walker, vice president of learning at The Tech, "and educators may be struggling to conduct remote learning in an engaging and impactful way. This is our specialty, and we hope we can provide a useful service during these uncertain times."
The new resources include:
- A virtual field trip to The Tech Interactive, including a look inside the places innovation happens in Silicon Valley.
- Simple STEM activities like making your own inflatable creation or designing a device to make remote deliveries.
- In-depth challenges for teens involving real-world problems and tech solutions that will have them designing and iterating like engineers and social entrepreneurs.
- IMAX educational films and activities.
The Tech Interactive will also promote daily activities on its social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. Fans can share their creations with the hashtag #TheTechatHome.
The Tech Interactive at Home is available at TheTech.org/athome. This work is supported entirely by donors while The Interactive is closed to the public. Contributions are welcome.
