Sweet Dirt Promotes Industry Veteran as Vice President of Cannabis Operations

ELIOT, Maine, March 4, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Sweet Dirt LLC, a Maine-based cannabis company, today announced the appointment of Jessica Oliver to Vice President Cannabis Operations. Sweet Dirt is a fully vertically integrated cannabis organization with employees, contractors and partners spanning cultivation, distribution, retail, administration, legal, compliance, IT, security and finance.

Most recently, Oliver served as a key member of the Sweet Dirt executive team in the role of Director of Retail Operations. In her expanded role, Oliver will continue to lead a growing retail team, but will also liaise with cultivation, finance, compliance and marketing to manage manufacturing operations and oversee all product operations including procurement, merchandizing, packaging and pricing.

Oliver's experience in the cannabis industry spans more than eight years and five states.  She brings a track record of success across a range of cannabis retail and operations scenarios including compliance management, process improvement, product development and packaging design, and post-harvest and retail operations planning.

Oliver began her cannabis career in 2012 when she joined New England's then largest medical cannabis dispensary. There, she held positions in customer-facing retail operations, manufacturing and packaging management, and product management and marketing. In 2017, Oliver founded J.J. Oliver Consulting, offering project management and operations consulting for the cannabis industry.

"Jessica's breadth of experience and connections in the cannabis industry have allowed her to quickly step in and demonstrate tremendous value," said Jim Henry, CEO of Sweet Dirt. "As Vice President of Cannabis Operations, Jessica will play a key role in establishing Sweet Dirt as Maine's recognized source for organic, clean label and sustainable cannabis."

Oliver holds a Master Certificate in Project Management from Villanova University. A Maine native, she is passionate about utilizing her cannabis industry expertise to promote social awareness, public safety, and responsible use in New England cannabis markets.
