Fine Homebuilding Advances Its Keep Craft Alive Scholarship Program Efforts at the NAHB International Builders Show In Las Vegas

NEWTOWN, Conn., Jan. 16, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Fine Homebuilding, the leading trade media brand for construction professionals, continues its commitment to help solve the skills gap in the industry. By bringing together seasoned veterans and emerging professionals at key industry events, Fine Homebuilding inspires the community with its ongoing and highly popular #KeepCraftAlive initiative. For the third consecutive year, the company is hosting its most celebrated and well-attended #KeepCraftAlive event on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, during the International Builders' Show® in Las Vegas. This year's 2020 #KeepCraftAlive Networking and Fundraising Event will also help raise money for student scholarships that Fine Homebuilding has set up in partnership with SkillsUSA® to prospective students looking to pursue education and a career in the trades.

IBS conference attendees are invited to join Justin Fink and the editorial staff of Fine Homebuilding; along with Fine Homebuilding brand ambassadors and industry experts, including Matt Risinger from The Build Show, Nick Schiffer, Steve Baczek, Mike Guertin, and Elly Hart (among others); for an evening of networking and fundraising, all while enjoying craft beer, handcrafted cocktails, and tasty pub fare as well as cool giveaways and #KeepCraftAlive swag. The event will take place on Wednesday, January 22nd from 5:30-8:30pm PST at the Craft + Community Bar and Grill at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. To help support the next generation of craftsmen and women, 100% of event ticket sale net profits will go to the Fine Homebuilding #KeepCraftAlive Scholarship Fund in a partnership with SkillsUSA.®

"For over 35 years, Fine Homebuilding has created a space where construction professionals can come face-to-face with mentors who share their commitment to the preservation of craftsmanship and the advancement of home-building performance. This #KeepCraftAlive event serves to bring that virtual experience to reality?professionals can meet and discuss the challenges they face within the industry, nurture their own careers and development, celebrate their accomplishments and commitment to quality, and to ultimately help raise funds for our #KeepCraftAlive scholarship program," says Renee Jordan, Senior Vice President & Group Publisher at Taunton Press. She adds, "We are especially grateful for the commitment of our sponsors who have also stepped up to demonstrate their support of #KeepCraftAlive, including our Platinum Sponsor Pella Windows & Doors, Official Charter Partner CertainTeed Corporation, and Benjamin Moore. We also truly appreciate our other valued partners contributing to this year's
scholarship fund: Feeney, InOvate, and BILCO Company."

Justin Fink, Editorial Director of Fine Homebuilding, adds: "Building houses is a communal pursuit, and that community can't be synthesized through social media alone. I think that's why this event has become such a pilgrimage for tradespeople young and old. Here, builders from all across the country can meet face to face, share their struggles and successes, rally around their shared passion for the craft, and, when it's time to go back home to their job sites, they can do so feeling like one unified tribe."

FOSTERING AN ENGAGED PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY, WITH A FOCUS ON CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR CRAFTSMANSHIP IN THE BUSINESS

One notable new element of focus for this year's #KeepCraftAlive event will be an emphasis on the quality of craftsmanship, particularly creating opportunities for craftsmanship to exist in the trade business. Rob Yagid, Executive Director of #KeepCraftAlive, talks about the passion home builders have for their craft and the degree of enthusiasm and positive energy surrounding the annual #KeepCraftAlive event. He notes: "Every year, tradesmen and women from across the country come together to renew their commitment to #KeepCraftAlive. They come to connect with like-minded professionals, to learn, to challenge the status quo, to be inspired, and to give back by raising funds that help fuel the training of the next generation. Fine Homebuilding has always been a beacon to those most passionate about their life's work, and that is no more apparent than when witnessing the energy coursing through the renowned #KeepCraftAlive event at the International Builders' Show."

Fine Homebuilding is donating 100% of ticket sale net profits from this event to the Fine Homebuilding #KeepCraftAlive Scholarship Fund in a partnership with SkillsUSA® in order to help support the next generation of craftsmen and women.
