James Scott Farrin Adds Four New Shareholders to Firm's Notable Roster of Leaders

Workers' Compensation attorney Brian Clemmons and Litigation attorney Coleman Cowan are joined by Personal Injury attorneys Chelsea Ragan and J. Gabe Talton on the firm's distinguished list of shareholders.

Brian Clemmons
Clemmons began his career representing insurance companies in personal injury cases, and he has brought that experience to bear for clients on the other side of the table at James Scott Farrin, where he has skillfully advocated for clients for more than a decade. He has spoken at Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses, helping fellow attorneys improve their skill sets. Brian has more than 30 years of experience in a variety of legal areas, including Workers' Compensation and Social Security Disability, with the former being his focus. He holds a B.A. in History from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

Coleman Cowan
Cowan's journey to his position as shareholder is measured by a wide-ranging and incredibly successful career in both journalism and law. Formerly a producer on "60 Minutes" and "CBSN on Assignment," as well as a reporter for "Businessweek," Coleman has won two Emmy awards and a handful of other accolades for journalism. In the courtroom, he has served as lead counsel litigating successful multi-million dollar jury verdicts.* He earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, his masters in Journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem.

Chelsea Ragan
Ragan began her legal career with James Scott Farrin. Working on a class action on behalf of thousands of black farmers who were discriminated against by the government, she traveled across the country interviewing and assisting them with their claims.* She then went to work for those in need as an Assistant Public Defender, helping people who needed representation in the criminal court system. She took that passion for advocacy and funneled it into personal injury litigation, and has been with James Scott Farrin since 2013 practicing almost exclusively in that field. She earned a B.A. in Political Science and Geography from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in Columbia, SC, where she was named a South Carolina Bar Foundation Public Interest Fellow.

J. Gabe Talton
Talton is a talented attorney with the heart ? and thirst for facts ? of a detective. He is also bilingual, speaking Spanish as his second language. For more than 15 years, he's sought justice for those who've been injured or mistreated including pro bono representation of numerous Moral Monday cases. He has a knack for finding the details that others may miss. He earned his B.S. in History from North Carolina State University, where he minored in Spanish. He earned his J.D. from the Rutgers School of Law, where he was a Marshal Brennan Fellow.
