KB Home Partners With Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors to Build Personalized Home for Deserving U.S. Air Force Veteran Family

KB Home (NYSE: KBH) and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors are teaming up to build a personalized, mortgage-free home for the deserving Hines family. Master Sergeants Daniel "Reese" and Kyle Hines, veterans of the United States Air Force, both sustained combat-related injuries in Afghanistan and Iraq, respectively.

"KB Home was founded to create quality homes for American families, and we're continuing this legacy today with our commitment to build a new home for the Hines family," said Jeffrey Mezger, chairman, president and CEO of KB Home. "We commend Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors for their exceptional work in helping provide homes for veterans, and we are honored to have the opportunity to partner with them on building the Hines' new dream home."

KB Home is building a single-story home with accessibility features that meet the current and future needs of the Hines family and their two service dogs. These features include wider interior and exterior entries, level or zero-edge thresholds, a roll-in master bath shower and adjusted-height light switches and electrical outlets. The 2,300-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bath home is located in the Mirabel community of Boerne, Texas, approximately 15 miles northwest of San Antonio. The Hines family worked with the KB Home Design Studio team to select the design features and fixtures to personalize their new home.

"This home marks the first time that Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors organization has partnered with KB Home and the first time we have had the opportunity to work with U.S. Air Force veterans," said Jared Allen. "KB Home and over 40 of their partners have donated labor, time and materials to help build the Hines family their forever home. We're excited to have the opportunity to partner with companies such as KB Home, which shares both our values and commitment to giving back to those who have served."

KB Home is hosting an on-site event beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12 with the frame of the home acting as a backdrop to the day's festivities. Trade partners who have donated material and labor toward the Hines family's home are invited to participate as are local elected officials, including U.S. Congressman Will Hurd; State Senator Donna Campbell; State Representative Lyle Larson; and Bexar County Precinct 3 Commissioner Kevin Wolff. During the event, participants will be invited to write messages of support and encouragement to the Hines family on the framed walls of their home. KB Home estimates that the family will be able to move into their completed home by early 2020.
