Media Advisory - Throne Speech 2019: CFIB available to comment on behalf of small business owners
TORONTO, Dec. 5, 2019 /CNW/ - The Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) is available to comment on today's Throne Speech from the federal government on behalf of Canada's small and medium-sized businesses.
CFIB has asked the new government to make small business a major focus of its mandate. To do that, the government should:
Make it as easy to sell a small business to a family member as it is to a stranger
Work with the provinces to reduce interprovincial trade barriers, particularly on beer and wine
Deliver on its election promise to eliminate credit card processing fees on HST and GST
Put in place a plan to balance the budget within the next five years
Dan Kelly (President), Corinne Pohlmann (Senior Vice-President, National Affairs) and Jasmin Guénette (Vice-President, National Affairs) will be available to comment on the Throne Speech.
