Copyright Clearance Center Named One of the 2019 Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts

Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), a leader in advancing copyright, accelerating knowledge, and powering innovation, announces its inclusion in the top 25 of the 2019 Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts list by the Boston Globe Magazine and The Commonwealth Institute (TCI).

According to the Globe Magazine, "...the 2019 edition of this list of power brokers includes leaders of health care companies, retail giants, construction heavyweights, financial institutions, nonprofit groups, and many more. All told, the women featured are calling the shots for thousands of employees and billions in revenue."

"We are honored to be included on this exclusive list for the 9th time, along with so many other successful women-led organizations," said Tracey Armstrong, President and CEO, CCC. "At CCC, we continue to push toward a more inclusive and diverse representation to ensure that women have a seat at the decision-making table and receive acknowledgement for their contributions."

Armstrong has been President and CEO of CCC since July 2007. She brings almost 30 years of experience in rights management, helping transform CCC's solutions to meet the needs of today's digital world. Armstrong works with publishers, authors, universities, businesses and industry associations around the world, addressing global copyright issues and establishing new alliances. She frequently speaks at industry events as a thought leader on copyright, digital transformation, and workplace diversity. Armstrong has served on the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organizations (IFRRO) Board of Directors since 2016. She sits on the Executive Committee for PublisHer, the industry-led movement working to bring gender equality to world publishing. Armstrong holds an MBA from Northeastern University and mentors young women in that program, and also works closely with Harborlight Community Partners, a non-profit, Massachusetts-certified Community Development Corporation which provides affordable housing.

TCI, a nonprofit that supports female business leaders, examined revenue or operating budget as well as other variables, including number of full-time employees in the state, workplace and management diversity, and innovative projects. TCI then ranked organizations according to its own formula. This is the 19th year that TCI has created the list, and the seventh year that the Globe Magazine has partnered with the group.
