MEDICC Deplores US Ban on Flights to all Cuban Cities Except Havana

OAKLAND, Calif., Nov. 4, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- MEDICC finds the Trump administration's decision this past week to further restrict travel between the US and Cuba--banning flights from the United States to all Cuban cities other than Havana--both distressing and deplorable. "The escalating assault on freedom of movement of Americans, Cuban-Americans and Cubans alike makes it harder for family visits outside the Cuban capital and further stymies scientific and medical cooperation between Cuba and the United States," said Dr. C. "Coming on the heels of restricting Cubans' travel to the United States and tighter restrictions on US and Cuban-American visits to Cuba, it punishes families the most. It also pushes far into the future the day when US patients might benefit from Cuba's unique biotech treatments for diabetic foot ulcers, lung cancer and other medical conditions."

MEDICC was founded over two decades ago to foster mutual learning and collaboration over confrontation, and believes that all Americans should have the right to travel to Cuba and all Cubans should have the right to live free of US hostility and sanctions.
