Realtor Athena Brownson Teams up with 5280 AIR Society to Help Chronically Ill Kids

DENVER, Oct. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The National Jewish Health 5280 AIR (Asthma, Immunology and Respiratory) Society Fizz & Feathers fundraise turned Ironworks into a modern-day speakeasy, showcasing Denver's top restaurants, award-winning mixologists and an inspired take on the music of the roaring 20's. It featured dancing, food, and drinks. Proceeds went to help the Morgridge Academy, located inside National Jewish Health.

"Earlier this year I became involved with the 5280 AIR Society board, a group of young leaders in Denver who are invested in the National Jewish Health mission and want to make a difference," said Athena. "Every year this board throws multiple fundraising events to help raise money for a very worthy organization -- Morgridge Academy."

Morgridge Academy is a free, Colorado Department of Education approved facility school that serves children in kindergarten through eighth grade who have been diagnosed with a chronic illness. It is the only school of its kind on a medical campus in the country, and its mission is to provide a safe, friendly, and healthy school environment committed to whole-child development. Morgridge Academy's coordinated care is designed to give its students the knowledge and confidence to manage both their education and their illnesses, ultimately enabling them to return to a traditional public school setting.
