Amundi Pioneer Launches Pioneer Emerging Markets Equity Fund

Amundi Pioneer today introduced a new mutual fund, Pioneer Emerging Markets Equity Fund (the "Fund"). The Fund is managed by Amundi's Paris-based Emerging Markets Equity team, which has been managing emerging markets equity strategies for more than 20 years.

The Fund's investment strategy integrates a top-down macroeconomic approach focusing on the relative attractiveness of emerging market countries with fundamental, bottom up, equity analysis. The Fund's investment objective is long-term capital growth.

Amundi has strong capabilities managing strategies focused on emerging market (EM) issuers, with $50 billion in assets under management, including $13 billion in EM equities and $37 billion in EM fixed income and cross assets as of June 30, 2019. The EM team has 67 investment professionals, including 24 equity portfolio managers and 18 career analysts.

The Fund's portfolio management team is led by Patrice Lemonnier, Head of Emerging Markets Equity, and Mickaël Tricot, Head of Global Emerging Markets Equity, at Amundi Asset Management.

Ken Taubes, Chief Investment Officer, US, of Amundi Pioneer, said: "Amundi is among the global leaders in emerging markets investing, and this Fund brings US clients capabilities previously available only to investors outside the US. EM is an important asset class for diversified long-term portfolios, and this Fund adds an important dimension to our existing lineup of US and global equity, fixed income and multi-asset funds. We are continuing to explore ways to bring more of Amundi's investment expertise to US investors."

A Word About Risk:

Investing in foreign and/or emerging market securities involves risks relating to interest rates, currency exchange rates, economic, and political conditions. To the extent the Fund invests in issuers located within specific countries or regions, the Fund may be particularly affected by adverse markets, rates, and events which may occur in those countries and regions. Investing in other investment companies, including exchange-traded funds (ETFs), subjects the Fund to the risks of investing in the underlying securities or assets held by those funds. Investments in real estate securities, such as REITs are affected by economic conditions, interest rates, governmental actions and other factors. At times, the Fund's investments may represent industries or industry sectors that are interrelated or have common risks, making it more susceptible to any economic, political, or regulatory developments or other risks affecting those industries and sectors. These risks may increase share price volatility.
