DISCO Reinvents Managed Review and Delivers 60% Faster Reviews than Industry Average

Just as the company did with review software, legal software-as-a-service leader DISCO invents a better way to conduct managed review.

Today at ILTACON, DISCO revealed an enhanced and expanded managed review offering that combines cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI), fast technology, and deep expertise to deliver fast, accurate reviews.

DISCO fundamentally changed traditional managed review by leveraging AI to find relevant documents faster, increase review speeds, and build better, more accurate quality control protocols. Fueled by its recent $85 million funding, DISCO invested in a team of industry veterans who have created new processes for managing reviews that take full advantage of DISCO's technology. The result is a solution that delivers reviews 60% faster than the industry average, with high accuracy, that consistently conclude under budget for the client.

"Many in the industry see managed review as a commoditized service. We strongly disagree, and through our dedicated investment and innovation, we transformed the value that managed services can deliver to our clients," said DISCO CEO Kiwi Camara. "Our products and services continue to disrupt every step of the legal process, as we continue to reveal the impact that great technology can bring to legal teams."

"Facing a tight deadline, DISCO was able to quickly assemble a team to assist us with an expedited discovery project. Thanks to the speed of the reviewers and the quality of their work, we met our deadline with time to spare and stayed under budget," said Adam Massey, partner at Adams and Reese LLP.

New Management Hires Drive Innovation and Industry-Leading Services

DISCO recently opened a dedicated review center in Austin with a capacity for more than 100 reviewers ? highly trained experts in ediscovery best practices who dive into matters quickly and begin producing results immediately. To continue the team's innovation and customer successes, DISCO welcomes two industry leaders to its management team with decades of experience at leading ediscovery providers, Am Law firms, and major corporations.

Anthony Colaizzo joined DISCO as its director of managed review. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, he brings a decade of experience in ediscovery and analytics. He joined the company from FTI Consulting, where he specialized in analytics to help clients embrace the changing nature of legal technology to address evolving legal challenges around the world.

Legal consultant and ediscovery specialist Gregory MacFarlane joins DISCO as its senior director of managed review sales. He spent eight years at Thomson Reuters, most recently as its director of legal consulting, where he helped Fortune 1000 corporations, law firms, and government agencies improve their ediscovery processes and overcome challenges of managing big data. He earned his J.D. from Temple University.

"The project managers at DISCO feel like an extension of our team, providing insight on how to utilize parts of the tool, such as tag predictions, to our best advantage," said Jason Nittel, litigation technology manager, Allen Matkins. "When it comes to managed review, DISCO gets the tool better than anyone else in the marketplace, streamlining the process to produce the most effective and efficient review possible."

DISCO is exhibiting at Booth 908 at ILTACON, Aug. 18-22, 2019, in Orlando. Company representatives will be providing demonstrations, and DISCO will be sponsoring a charity golf tournament and VIP cocktail social.
