CLEAR Launches at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport

CLEAR, the secure identity company using biometrics to build a frictionless and secure world, is now available at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM). With CLEAR, members traveling through BHM can get through the security checkpoint quickly and easily so they can get to their flight faster or enjoy extra time in the terminal.

CLEAR is changing the way consumers experience the world by transforming the cards in their wallet into a single biometric ID. With CLEAR, your fingertips, eyes and face are your ID, credit card, ticket, reservation and more. Today, there are roughly 3.8 million CLEAR members enjoying secure, frictionless experiences at 60+ airports, stadiums and other locations nationwide.

"Today's launch is an important step toward making travel stress disappear from The Magic City," said Howard Kass, EVP, Corporate Affairs at CLEAR. "We're excited to open here in Birmingham and proud to have created 25 new jobs, which will enhance the BHM experience, and help support the local community as well."

BHM has been welcoming travelers to The Magic City and serving as Central Alabama's gateway to the sky for more than 80 years. Serving more than 2.9 million passengers in 2018, the airport has evolved into a catalyst for growth and economic development for the entire Birmingham region. With over 100 daily nonstop and direct flights to over 15 cities, passengers have great access to fly to domestic and international destinations with as little as one stop.

"Our goal at BHM is to provide passengers an easy and convenient travel experience," said Ronald Mathieu, President and CEO at Birmingham Airport Authority. "We are happy to partner with CLEAR as we are committed to enhancing and elevating every customer's experience at our airport."

CLEAR membership is $15 per month, paid annually, with the option to add up to 3 additional family members for just $50 per year. Children under 18 can use the CLEAR Lane for free when accompanied by a CLEAR family member. After a fast, one-time enrollment, members can begin using CLEAR immediately.
