National Lineworker Appreciation Day was established by the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) to honour the highly trained men and women who maintain a complex electricity grid and work efficiently, safely and collaboratively to keep power on for our homes, schools and businesses.

"Alectra is proud to join utilities across Canada in celebrating and recognizing the important work of lineworkers," says Max Cananzi, President, Alectra Utilities. "National Lineworker Appreciation Day is an opportunity to show our appreciation to the tradespeople who maintain a safe and reliable electricity service across our country."

Lineworkers have been around for over a century, often working in difficult conditions to build and maintain the powerlines that provide Canadians safe, reliable, affordable and clean energy. In appreciation for their commitment to serve fellow Canadians, the CEA and Alectra will be recognizing and supporting these men and women through National Lineworker Appreciation Day.

"The Canadian Electricity Association is proud to lead this initiative which recognizes lineworkers on an annual basis for the work they do in often dangerous conditions. We thank them on July 10th for their service and for enabling the great Canadian economy," said Francis Bradley, President and CEO of CEA.

The Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) launched a petition calling on the government to recognize July 10 as National Lineworker Appreciation Day. Learn more at alectrautilities.com.
