Muhammad Appointed onto Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee


MILWAUKEE, June 17, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- AAEA Member, Andrew Muhammad from the University of Tennessee was appointed to the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee on Thursday, June 11, 2019.

The Committee advises the Secretary of Agriculture and the United States Trade Representative on trade policy and matters arising in the administration. They also give guidance on negotiating objectives and bargaining positions for the United States before entering any trade agreements.

Muhammad is the Blasingame Chair of Excellence in Agricultural Policy at the University. He, along with 139 other private-sector members are joining the committee along with six technical advisory committees focused on specific agricultural sectors through 2023.

"Serving on the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee is an excellent opportunity that will benefit the University of Tennessee, as well as agricultural, food and forestry interests in Tennessee and the Southeast," said Muhammad.
