BCR's Neutralizer® Treatment Technology Helps CCUA Achieve Class AA Biosolids and Reduce Environmental Impact

Today BCR announced that its Neutralizer® treatment technology will play a key role in the production of Class AA biosolids for CCUA's recently upgraded and expanded Mid-Clay County wastewater treatment plant.

"The grand opening marks the expansion of the Mid-Clay Wastewater Treatment Facility from 750,000 to 1,500,000 gallons per day and is a state-of-the-art design that will help maintain quality of life for Clay County citizens by reducing environmental impact," said Celeste Goldberg, Chief Customer/Public Information Officer with Clay County. "We invested in the beneficial safe options that come with Class AA biosolids and the BCR Neutralizer offers a faster and more cost-effective way to achieve our goals."

"We're honored to continue our partnership with CCUA and be a part of this grand opening today," said Joshua Scott, CEO for BCR last Thursday at the event. "It is a special day for us because this marks the fifth installation of our Neutralizer technology system with Clay County in the ten plus years we've been working with them. The Neutralizer® is an innovative approach to achieving Class AA biosolids, and we see a growing interest as other utility plants learn more about it."

The Neutralizer® is one of several progressive technology alternatives that BCR offers for advanced oxidation of biosolids into Class AA and Class B material. A process that has historically taken a month or more to accomplish can now be completed in a matter of hours at less cost. The BIO-SCRU® Class A biosolids dryer provides reliable, safe drying of dewatered sludge in a compact footprint compared to other drying technologies.

BCR is typically called in when a municipality is in the initial stages of planning an upgrade or a new wastewater treatment plant. The company helps with budgeting and feasibility studies, technology reviews, assessments, development of specifications, and other technical requirements.

A growing number of utilities are upgrading to Class AA biosolids because they are safer for the surrounding community, reduce harmful impact on the environment, and offer multiple options for beneficial land applications.
