City College Altamonte Springs Nursing Program is now ACEN Accredited

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla., May 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- City College is a private not-for-profit college and is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). City College Altamonte Springs is located in Seminole County, Florida. Within fifty miles of the college, there are over twenty-three hospitals. Over 56% of Florida's RNs have a diploma or associate's degree, and 36% have a bachelor's degree.

Program Inception:
On August 21, 2012, the Florida Board of Nursing granted a license to City College, Altamonte Springs to enroll students in the Associates of Science in Nursing Program. In 2014, the Nursing Program at City College Altamonte Springs campus graduated its first two students. Since then it has provided an education to nursing students. The City College Nursing graduate is prepared for beginning technical nursing practice in both acute care and community settings. Experiences during the curriculum provides for the ability to care for and interact with individuals, families, and clients across the lifespan; and utilizes the nursing process to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care in contemporary practice. These experiences qualify graduates to take the Florida State Board of Nursing Licensing Examination (NCLEX) in order to become Registered Nurses.

Current Status:
The College admits students four times a year (January, April, June and October). As of the 7th of May 2019, the campus has a licensure pass rate of 100%. This information can be located at the Board of Nursing site.
