Rocky Mountaineer named one of B.C.'s Top Employers for a second consecutive year

VANCOUVER, BC, Feb. 21, 2019 /CNW/ - Rocky Mountaineer has been recognized as one of the best places to work in the B.C.'s Top Employers competition, for a second consecutive time.

As part of its efforts to attract and retain top talent, Rocky Mountaineer offers a diverse range of career opportunities, competitive salaries with bonuses, a great benefits package and RRSP matching program.

New recruits receive two full days of onboarding seminars to familiarize them with the culture as well as Vertical Mindset Training, which reinforces a positive approach to all aspects of work and life. Rocky Mountaineer supports ongoing employee education and offers a bespoke training and development program for all managers.

"At Rocky Mountaineer we have a clear vision: To create life-changing experiences for our guests. It's the dedication, passion and innovation of our team members that make delivering on this vision possible," explained Steve Sammut, president and chief executive officer. "We work together as one team to create a compelling, inspiring workplace, and encourage each other to strive for extraordinary outcomes in everything that we do."

Rocky Mountaineer has a full-time workforce of more than 300 people located at head office in Vancouver, the rail yard in Kamloops, and globally in outside sales roles. This figure increases to more than 800 people during the train's operating season from April to October with positions added onboard the trains and in Vancouver, Kamloops, Whistler, Quesnel and the Canadian Rockies at the overnight destinations. The seasonal roles are highly coveted with an exceptional employee retention rate of 72 per cent returning team members each season.

The B.C.'s Top Employers competition recognizes the B.C. employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. Winners are announced in a magazine supplement in the Vancouver Sun.
