Wells Fargo Donates $300,000 for Kansas City Housing, Education and Community Resources


Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) today announced $300,000 in donations to three local nonprofits to support housing, education and neighborhood improvement for Kansas City residents.

"We are committed to strengthening and empowering communities," said Kirk Kellner, Wells Fargo region bank president. "The work being done by these nonprofits will provide families and individuals with resources in Kansas City to create new opportunities and improve lives."

The Wells Fargo grants are intended to support neighborhood revitalization efforts through the Wells Fargo NeighborhoodLIFT® program funded by the Wells Fargo Foundation.

NeighborhoodLIFT local initiative grants will be awarded to the following Kansas City nonprofits:

More than 550 homeowners created in Kansas City

The Kansas City NeighborhoodLIFT program local initiative grants are part of a $12 million commitment by Wells Fargo to boost local homeownership and revitalize neighborhoods in Kansas City. NeighborhoodLIFT programs in 2018 and 2014 have assisted more than 550 Kansas City homeowners by offering homebuyer education plus down payment assistance grants. The 2018 Kansas City NeighborhoodLIFT program is a collaboration with NeighborWorks® America and its network members Westside Housing and Beyond Housing.

Since February 2012, LIFT programs have helped create nearly 20,000 homeowners through 67 launch events. A video about the NeighborhoodLIFT program is posted on Wells Fargo Stories.
