MONTRÉAL, Jan. 19, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - In a festive setting, the entire family gathered together this morning for the start of the 36th edition of the Fête des neiges de Montréal, the highly popular winter event that will be held every weekend until February 10, 2019.

An awesome new feature

The Frosty Slides offer a sliding experience unlike any other in Montréal. With its 18 lanes of varying heights that are built entirely of ice, including two luge sliding lanes for even more thrills, the sliding village set up at the base of Mont Boullé has something to delight the for the entire family.

The Frosty Slides are accessible with the purchase of a Sliding Pass which, for just $8 per person or $25 per family, entitles you to unlimited access throughout the eight days of the Fête. It also has other advantages such as free admission to the Stewart Museum and the Biosphere, Environment Museum.

Rediscover the joys of winter

Again this year the Fête des neiges has put together a program of free activities that are sure to please people of all ages. Whether it's a snowshoeing outing on Île Sainte-Hélène, putting your Axe Throwing skills to the test or engaging in a friendly Snow Scooter race, you can be sure no one is going to be bored at this exciting event.

In the Zone Faim de Loup or on the main stage, a variety of artists will be rendering outdoor performances throughout the Fête, and this only adds to the festive ambiance of the event. The performing artists include Atchoum et ses microbes, the Cool Kids, Ari Cui Cui, Duo Trad, QW4RTZ, ice sculptor Nicolas Godon and a special show celebrating 50 years of television at Télé-Québec.
