Alfa Laval Acquires Technology to Further Drive Sustainable Energy Solutions
LUND, Sweden, Dec. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
Alfa Laval ? a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling ? today announces that it has signed an agreement to acquire certain technologies and activities, with sales of SEK 14 million LTM June 2018, from Airec ? a Malmö, Sweden-based innovation company with patented technology for dimple asymmetry heat exchangers. The new company will be integrated into the Brazed & Fusion Bonded Heat Exchangers unit of the Energy Division. The acquired technology ? in combination with Alfa Laval's existing heat transfer know-how, manufacturing footprint and global market presence ? represents untapped opportunities. The closing is expected early January 2019.
The technology for dimple asymmetrical heat exchangers opens many interesting markets and applications for Alfa Laval, especially in gas-handling duties. For example, heat exchangers designed to handle gas temperatures at very high levels as would be the case in boilers and instantaneous water heaters.
