Indiana Department of Education Approves Curriculum Associates' i-Ready® Diagnostic as a Norm-Referenced Assessment

NORTH BILLERICA, Mass., Nov. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) recently approved the use of Curriculum Associates' i-Ready® Diagnostic as a norm-referenced assessment for reading and mathematics in Grades K?8. This expands IDOE's approval of the program, which is already on the state's Approved Formative Assessment Program List. i-Ready Diagnostic is part of the award-winning i-Ready online diagnostic and instructional program, which supports learning for more than six million students nationwide.

By adapting to student responses and assessing a broad range of skills?including skills above and below a student's chronological grade level?the i-Ready Diagnostic pinpoints student ability level and identifies the specific skills students need to learn to accelerate their growth. The program is currently being used by thousands of educators to support students in districts across Indiana.

"Our school has seen tremendous results by using the Diagnostic tool i-Ready provides," said Darren Haas, principal of Southeast Fountain Elementary School in Veedersburg, Indiana. "Keeping a close eye on where the students are at the beginning, middle, and end of the year, along with Standards Mastery periodically in between, has been great! Our teachers are able to meet every student right where they are with no guessing of what each student actually understands."

"i-Ready Diagnostic provides educators with easy-to-use, comprehensive data to inform their targeting of instruction on a daily basis," said Rob Waldron, CEO of Curriculum Associates. "Educators want to see both norm- and criterion-referenced data, and i-Ready provides both. We are proud to continue our support of thousands of Indiana educators as they use the program to support academic achievement for their students."
