Schioppa® Caster Products Unaffected by China Import Tariffs

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Nov. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Schioppa® Casters is pleased to announce that its caster products are not impacted by the recent Section 301 tariffs imposed on imported goods from China. Schioppa is manufactured in Brazil and assembled in the U.S. -- it will not incur import tariffs on any of its products. Tariffs of between 10-25% on over $250 Billion in goods are expected to impact many sectors of American manufacturing that rely on typically cheaper Chinese materials, including casters and caster wheels.

Chinese casters and components are currently subject to List 3 tariffs of 10% and List 1 tariffs of 25%. List 3 Tariffs are will escalate to 25% by January 2019. Many U.S. industries are seeking out alternative domestic or non-Chinese imports for U.S manufacturing and assembly to mitigate price increases. Schioppa's caster and wheel solutions, like its Diamond series casters, present high-quality alternatives to made-in-China casters facing price increases due to U.S. tariffs.
