Town of Cap-Santé (website in French only)

Non-repayable contribution of $102,828 out of a total investment of $255,538

The project consisted in renovating the Albert-Fortier community hall in the Municipality of Cap-Santé. More specifically, the work involved replacing the roof, renovating the washrooms, refitting the building interior and building an access for persons with reduced mobility. CED's contribution went toward all project costs.

Incorporated in 1679, the Town of Cap-Santé is in the Portneuf RCM, in the Capitale-Nationale administrative region (Québec City) and numbers some 3,500 residents. It provides its citizens with a community centre featuring rooms for theatrical productions, meetings, celebrations and exhibitions.

Vallée Bras-du-Nord, coop de solidarité

Non-repayable contribution of $329,300 out of a total investment of $1,000,000

The project consists in upgrading and connecting hiking and mountain biking trails in the Vallée Bras-du-Nord. In operation since 2002, Vallée Bras-du-Nord is a solidarity cooperative that develops and operates recreation and tourism activities and services promoting Vallée Bras-du-Nord from a sustainable development perspective. 

La Société de la piste Jacques-Cartier/Portneuf Inc.

Non-repayable contribution of $146,421 out of a total investment of $292,841

The project consists in upgrading a multi-purpose bike path (Vélopiste) on the former railway between Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier and Rivière-à-Pierre. More specifically, the work includes resurfacing five bridges, replacing a culvert and installing a second one, upgrading part of the bike path surface and replacing the fences.

The Société de la piste Jacques-Cartier/Portneuf is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1994. Its head office is in Saint-Raymond, and it manages and maintains the Piste Jacques-Cartier/Portneuf, a 68 km multi-purpose bike path.

Les Loisirs Montcalm Inc. (website in French only)

Non-repayable contribution of $73,994 out of a total investment of $156,260

The project consisted in renovating the elevator in the Loisirs Montcalm community centre. More specifically, the work included replacing various parts in the elevator system and fully renovating the elevator car. CED's contribution went toward all project costs.

Founded in 1969, Les Loisirs Montcalm, a non-profit organization, is committed to improving the quality of life of Québec City area residents by providing recreational and community activities in a welcoming, accessible environment where people can talk and share with honesty and mutual trust and where diversity is respected.

Centre de plein air Lasallien Inc.

Non-repayable contribution of $58,685 out of a total investment of $487,900

The project consisted in improving the Sentiers du Moulin (website in French only) park in Lac-Beauport. More specifically, the work included expanding the mountain bike trail network, adding related infrastructure and upgrading many cross-country ski, snowshoe and fat bike trails.

Sentiers du Moulin gives outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to go mountain biking, cross-country skiing, hiking, fat biking and wilderness camping in an enchanting setting. The Centre de plein air Lasallien, a non-profit organization in the  Jacques-Cartier RCM, manages the trails.

Municipality of Saint-Ubalde (website in French only)

Non-repayable contribution of $25,738 out of a total investment of $51,475

The project consists in improving the Saint-Ubalde community centre. More specifically, the work includes replacing the arena's condensing unit with a more energy-efficient unit, replacing the arena's skating rink lighting with a light-emitting diode (LED) system, and replacing all the thermostats in the community centre. CED's contribution will go toward all project costs.

The Municipality of Saint-Ubalde has around 1,400 residents. The community centre was built in 1972 and provides a variety of services. It also houses an arena and rooms for various events, including recreation clubs, meetings, a community kitchen and a COOP day care centre.

Camp Portneuf (website in French only)

Non-repayable contribution of $17,500 out of a total investment of $35,000

The project consists in improving Camp Portneuf infrastructure providing access to Sept-Îles Lake. More specifically, the work includes building stone retaining walls at the top of the beach and a rainwater drainage system on the beach, and demolishing the boat shelter. CED's contribution will go toward all project costs.

Camp Portneuf has been a non-profit organization since 1942, and its mission is to develop, manage and promote its eponymous recreational tourism site, providing the only public access to Sept-Îles Lake in Saint-Raymond. The shoreline at the site has been developed (beach and marina) and it features cottages and a cafeteria. In addition to its four full-time employees, Camp Portneuf has around 40 seasonal employees.

Patro Laval Inc. (website in French only)

Non-repayable contribution of $17,198 out of a total investment of $34,396

The project consisted in improving the outdoor play area of the Patro Laval community recreation centre. More specifically, the work included replacing the play area's gravel surface with a rubber coating. CED's contribution went toward all project costs.

Patro Laval is a community recreation centre that was established in 1910 in the Saint-Sauveur neighbourhood in Québec City's Lower Town. The establishment has many indoor and outdoor spaces (gyms, multi-purpose rooms, skating rink, play areas, small amphitheatre, etc.) and offers social, sport, cultural and outdoor activities.

Régie intermunicipale de l'aréna de la Côte-de-Beaupré (website in French only)

Non-repayable contribution of $8,790 out of a total investment of $20,692

The project consisted in improving the Côte-de-Beaupré arena. More specifically, the work included upgrading the refrigeration system and skating rink by modifying the snow pit to reduce energy consumption and adding guardrails and access doors.

The mission of the Régie intermunicipale de la Côte-de-Beaupré, a provincial organization established in 1985, is to operate an arena for the enjoyment of some 16,500 residents of the six small municipalities in the Côte-de-Beaupré RCM, namely Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges, Saint-Tite-des-Caps, Saint-Joachim, Beaupré, Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré and Château-Richer.

Municipality of the Parish of Saint-Gilbert (website in French only)

Non-repayable contribution of $8,242 out of a total investment of $16,483

The project consisted in improving the Saint-Gilbert community centre. More specifically, the work included modernizing the centre's peripheral infrastructure, such as upgrading the outdoor washrooms, refitting the reception area, adding signage and rehabilitating the park for pre-schoolers. CED's contribution went toward all project costs.

The Municipality of Saint-Gilbert has fewer than 300 residents. The community centre was built in 1961; it has rooms for resident meetings, cultural events and sports activities and provides an outdoor play area for children. The centre is also a welcome point for users of the Véloroute portneuvoise bike path.

Société de développement de la Seigneurie Mauvide-Genest

Non-repayable contribution of $8,143 out of a total investment of $16,286

The project consisted in improving the Manoir Mauvide-Genest site. More specifically, the work included upgrading the access to the St. Lawrence River shoreline, including a stairway, and redeveloping the area around the restored access. CED's contribution went toward all project costs.

Established in 1999, the Société de développement de la Seigneurie Mauvide-Genest is mandated to develop and operate the Manoir Mauvide-Genest (facilitation, exhibitions and guided tours). The Manoir is designated as a National Historic Site of Canada and is part of Île d'Orléans's heritage landscape.

Comité de citoyens, Sagard-Lac-Deschênes Inc.

Non-repayable contribution of $7,215 out of a total investment of $14,430

The project consisted in improving the access infrastructure to the Sagard waterfall. More specifically, the work included installing sidewalks and wooden stairs and building a roof and guardrails on an existing patio. CED's contribution went toward all project costs.

Established in 1995, the Comité de citoyens Sagard-Lac-Deschênes is a non-profit organization responsible for coordinating activities organized in Sagard-Lac-Deschênes in the Charlevoix-Est RCM.

Corporation de gestion du Parc naturel régional de Portneuf

Non-repayable contribution of $1,404 out of a total investment of $3,828

The project consisted in refurbishing the community dock on Carillon Lake in the Parc naturel régional de Portneuf (website in French only) to make it safer. More specifically the work included dismantling and fixing or replacing damaged sections, and buying materials and new structures.

Created in 2011, the Corporation de gestion du Parc naturel régional de Portneuf is mandated to operate, develop, administer and maintain the park, which provides outdoor enthusiasts with a range of activities, including hiking, rope coursing, rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking and many types of accommodations.
