Medsurant Health, LLC. Announces First-Ever Memorial Scholarship For University Of Michigan School Of Kinesiology Students

WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., Sept. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Medsurant Health, LLC., the leading provider of outsourced Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM) services to hospitals and surgeons, recently announced the first-ever Barry Hertzberg Memorial Scholarship for the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology.

In honor of his dedication to IONM and his unwavering support to his colleagues, the Barry Hertzberg Memorial Scholarship was created in 2016. It offers $2,500 to one student and is accessible over the next five years. It is a need-based scholarship for senior-level IONM students.

"It seemed fitting to partner with the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology as they have developed a specialized cutting-edge IONM educational program ? the first and only accredited IONM program in the world," says Jordan Klear, CEO, Medsurant.

IONM program students will take 12 credits in neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neuroanesthesia, and a surgical neuromonitoring lab, plus nine credits of clinical rotations over the course of a year.  On average, , students are eligible to take the Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) Exam to become credentialed neuromonitorists just a few months after graduating from the program.
