CED is providing $1,455,000 in funding for two projects by Plastiques GPR and Syri Ltd. in Saint-Félix-de-Valois

SAINT-FÉLIX-DE-VALOIS, QC, July 21, 2017 /CNW/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

More than 225 jobs will be maintained and 40 more will be created for the residents of the region as a result of a $1,455,000 investment by the Government of Canada in two well-established Lanaudière-region companies.

David Lametti, MP for LaSalle???Émard???Verdun and Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, made the announcement today.

The goal of the project by Plastiques GPR Inc., the largest manufacturing employer in the Matawinie MRC, is to acquire state-of-the-art equipment. A $1,260,000 contribution will allow Plastiques GPR to purchase two injection molding machines. The company will be better equipped to meet its clients' demands, and its employees will have technological equipment to do their work. With the increase in its production capacity and the enhancement of its productivity, Plastiques GPR will be able to provide high-quality jobs for the population of the region.

Syri Ltd. will receive $195,000 in funding. Acquiring a laser cutting table and a bending machine will allow the company to provide high-quality jobs. In addition, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software will help the company improve its productivity, reduce costs and ensure greater flexibility in its production process.

This funding, in the form of repayable contributions, is provided under CED's Quebec Economic Development Program within the broader framework of the Government of Canada's Innovation and Skills Plan. This Plan provides for multi-year investments aimed at making Canada a global centre for innovation. It will help create even more well-paid jobs and will foster growth in the middle class.

That's what creates jobs and drives growth in Quebec's economy."
