Two Plan Bay Area 2040 Open Houses Remaining for San José and Santa Rosa


SAN FRANCISCO, May 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) invite the public to a pair of open houses in San José (Marriott Hotel, San Jose Ballroom IV-VI, 301 South Market Street) from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and in Santa Rosa (Finley Community Center, 2060 W. College Avenue) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 22, to learn about an update to the region's long-range transportation and housing roadmap known as Plan Bay Area 2040. The meetings in Santa Clara and Sonoma counties are the final two in a series held in all nine Bay Area counties between May 4 and May 22. Plan Bay Area 2040 is a roadmap to help Bay Area cities and counties preserve the character of our diverse communities while adapting to the challenges of future population growth.

Bay Area residents who attend these open houses will have the opportunity to view displays; ask questions; and offer comments on the Draft Plan's goals, proposed growth patterns, transportation investment strategy, and key actions identified to address ongoing and long-term regional challenges.

Transit Directions

The Marriott Hotel in San José is accessible by VTA at both the 301 S Market Street stop on the 201 Dash/Free Shuttle line and the Convention Center stop on the 901 Alum Rock line. The hotel is less than one block from each of these stops.

The Finley Community Center in Santa Rosa is near the West College Avenue at Sparrow Creek Street stop on the Santa Rosa CityBus 3 line. The last nightly route on this line begins at 7:30 p.m.
