The American Business Awards are the nation's premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S. are eligible to submit nominations ? public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word meaning "crowned," the awards will be presented to winners at a gala ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Tuesday, June 20. Tickets are now on sale.

More than 3,600 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Live Event of the Year, and App of the Year, among others.

Abila's Winning Entry

Member engagement is absolutely critical for associations to achieve their missions and grow their organizations. To support their engagement efforts and goals, Abila conducts annual industry research with the intent of sharing findings with the market, along with specific tips organizations can use to get the most out of the data in the studies. Other goals for Abila's research include driving sales inquiries and gaining exposure for the Abila brand as a thought leader in the association marketplace.

In 2016, Abila researched and wrote, "Member Engagement Study: Aligning Organization Strategy With What Matters Most to Members." In what the company believes was an industry first, Abila looked at the subject through a new lens that compares how and why members actually engage with organizations, alongside how professional member organizations think members engage with their organizations.

Abila launched an integrated marketing campaign, driven by this top-of-the-funnel thought leadership study, and accompanied by press coverage, customer- and prospect-targeted email campaigns, webinars, social media content, blog content, speaking engagements, and online advertising. Assets included a research report, multimedia news release, five videos, three infographics, a five-part webinar series, 34 emails, and 25+ blog posts. The campaign was a cross-departmental effort with Demand Generation, Corporate Communications, Corporate Marketing, and Product Marketing. The campaign exceeded all awareness, demand generation, and sales goals.

"We strongly believe we have a responsibility to the organizations we serve to help them learn and improve, so they're better able to fulfill their missions and improve the world," said Tad Druart, vice president of marketing for Abila. "Combining the research with the creativity, passion, and commitment of our team to make a difference in the community not only helped us reach our business goals, but helped the professionals we serve make better, more informed decisions. I'm proud of our team each and every day."

More than 190 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year's Stevie Award winners.

"Each year the judges find the quality and variety of the nominations to be greater than the year before. The 2017 competition was intense and every organization that has won should be proud," said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.
