Officially opened by Minister for Defence Procurement Harriett Baldwin at an April 4 ceremony, the Defence Fulfilment Centre (DFC) is an 80,000 square metre facility that will store food, clothing, general, and medical supplies for the UK Armed Forces. The centre will also bring the UK Armed Forces logistics, commodities, and support services up to the standard of industry best practice. Spanning across two buildings, each the size of several football pitches, the DFC will deliver efficient and effective processes across the supply chain through better storage and distribution, ensuring troops have the equipment and support they need at all times.

The work began in October 2015, with a ground-breaking ceremony performed by then Minister for Defence Procurement, Philip Dunne MP. The programme is expected to generate £500 million in savings over the next 15 years.

The DFC will be operated by Team Leidos, a delivery team consisting of Leidos, Kuehne+Nagel and TVS Supply Chain Solutions.

"The completion of the Defence Fulfilment Centre is an important milestone in our strategic plan to deliver enhanced information technology and logistics services to the Armed Forces," said Leidos Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Roger Krone. "This state-of-the-art facility is a conduit to ensuring troops can get what they need, when they need it, by offering a more efficient and effective processes across the supply chain."
