Jeremy Lin Foundation, P.F. Chang's & Kickstradomis Show Cincinnati High School Basketball Players That Character & Integrity Wins

ATLANTA, Jan. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Last year, two young athletes in Cincinnati endured racist bullying from the crowd while playing a rival school. This past weekend, they had the time of their lives in Atlanta with the Atlanta Hawks, Jeremy Lin and P.F. Chang's.

Lin and P.F. Chang's came together when they learned what the young men endured. Bobby Jefferson and Nathan Stockman were bullied with stereotypical, racially charged hate speech, and Nathan, who is Asian American, was also called "P.F. Chang's." After Susan Stockman, Nathan's mother, let P.F. Chang's know her son planned to write "P.F. Chang's" on this season's basketball sneakers as a sign of strength, P.F. Chang's decided to get involved. Then they reached out to the Jeremy Lin Foundation.

"In addition to being one of the most beloved players in the NBA, Jeremy is known for his big heart and incredible work with children and youth ? as well as his anti-bullying initiative," said Dwayne Chambers, P.F. Chang's chief marketing officer. "And when Jeremy takes a stand for something, he's all in. That's the kind of partner we were looking for."

On Saturday night, Nathan, Bobby, and their immediate families enjoyed a VIP dinner at P.F. Chang's where they met Lin. On Sunday, the Hawks arranged a "Magical Moment" including courtside seats during pre-game warmups and a front row in the player tunnel. P.F. Chang's treated them to tickets to the Hawks vs. Milwaukee Bucks game.

Lin presented Nathan and Bobby signed #7 Lin jerseys. P.F. Chang's presented Bobby adidas Harden vol. 3 basketball shoes, his preferred style, while granting Nathan's original wish by presenting him new adidas basketball shoes featuring the P.F. Chang's logo designed by Los Angeles sneaker artist Salvador Amezcua, known as Kickstradomis.

"I designed these kicks in a bold red color with my signature drips, P.F. Chang's logo, and two Chinese symbols that translate into strength and focus," said Amezcua. "When Nathan plays hard in these shoes, it'll look like he's drippin' in sauce." Not coincidentally, red symbolizes good luck and prosperity, two very important sentiments in the Asian culture as we head into Chinese New Year.

"Bullying and hate speech in sports, schools and everywhere else has to stop," said Lin. "I will continue to do my part to demonstrate that kindness prevails and that bullying is a game you can't win."
