Indianapolis Lighthouse Charter School South Campus Honored as School of Excellence by Indianapolis Urban League


INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Indianapolis Lighthouse Charter School South Campus was recently recognized as a school of excellence by the Indianapolis Urban League at the Educational Excellence Forum and Awards Luncheon held on Thursday, November 15, 2018. The Indianapolis South campus includes a lower academy with grades K through 6th and a college preparatory academy with grades 7th through 12th.

Nominees for the Educational Excellence award are required to serve a diverse array of students such as free and reduced lunch, English language learners, and students who are racially and ethnically diverse. Nominated schools were also required to have excellent/high reading or other standardized assessment scores and have strong initiatives or target students in a way that sets them apart from their contemporaries.

Lower Academy Principal Kim Randall speaks to the schools learning culture. Said Randall, "We strive to maintain high standards of performance from our scholars.  We know that all children have the potential to be high achieving and we work diligently to create an environment of support and encouragement."

College Preparatory Academy Principal Ryan Gall points to the cooperative relationship between faculty, students and parents, and the commitment of the teaching staff to each student's success.  Said Gall, "We are honored to be recognized with this award.
