Toyota Canada commends B.C. government's commitment to clean energy infrastructure development

Toyota pledges to work closely with the government to achieve carbon emission reductions

VICTORIA, Dec. 5, 2018 /CNW/ - Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) has issued a statement regarding the CleanBC plan announced by the British Columbia government today.

"Toyota Canada commends the B.C. government for recognizing bringing the next generation of low emission vehicles to market will require a strong focus on infrastructure development (including hydrogen production and distribution) to encourage the introduction and consumer acceptance of advanced technology vehicles in the province.

B.C. companies have been leaders in this space - particularly in the field of hydrogen research and development - and we look forward to the continued advancement of the sector in the province.

The CleanBC plan announced today will allow Toyota to continue to introduce electrified vehicles to the B.C. market, and we will continue to work closely with the government to decarbonize transportation in B.C. by continuing to provide a range of electrified vehicle options for consumers.

We look forward to bringing vehicles like the Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle to B.C. and will continue to build the market presence of our plug-in hybrid electric Prius Prime and our other electrified vehicles."
