MiamiPhotoFest Announces Itinerary, Confirms Participation by Renowned Photographers Ralph Gibson and Antoine d'Agata


MIAMI, Dec. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The 2019 MiamiPhotoFest will offer curated exhibits, artist talks, and signings. The Photo Fest is expected to be a well-attended cultural and educational event and will include a wide array of photography workshops, lecture panels, Q&A sessions, free giveaways, portfolio reviews, a photobook fair, exciting youth activities, and grants. Also planned are book signings from several leading publishers in the area of photography. Attendees will receive a free copy of "Bull City Summer: A Season at the Ballpark", showcasing a select group of artists and documentarians who have captured behind-the-field scenes and stories during a season of minor league baseball.

The MiamiPhotoFest 2019 itinerary includes:

Antoine d'Agata: "CODEX, America 1986-2017", which will be Antoine d'Agata's first solo U.S. exhibit, presentation, and book signing. Link

Ralph Gibson: Intimate talk and book signing event sponsored by Leica.

Bruce Gilden: Will be exhibiting for the first time his poignant series "Only God Can Judge Me" shot on the streets of Miami and Farm Boys and Farm Girls, a powerful portraiture series on young farm kids sponsored by Leica. Link

Roger Ballen: Brings his Theater of the Absurd exhibition to MiamiPhotoFest. Link

Andy Summers: photographer, and former guitarist for The Police, will have Intimate talk, "The Bones of Chuang Tzu" exhibition and book signing event sponsored by Leica. Link

Maggie Steber: Leica Ambassador and NationalGeographic photographer widely recognized for her coverage of the Katie Stubblefield's facial transplant, Maggie will exhibit her powerful, imaginative dream sequence, "The Secret Garden of Lily LaPalma" sponsored by Leica. Link

Kerry Payne Stailey: Will exhibit her long term project "More Beautiful Broken" a series that probes the complicated grief facing those left behind when somebody they love dies by suicide sponsored by Fujifilm. Link

Renée Jacobs: "womenSEEwomen" Photos de Femmes organization is dedicated to giving a powerful voice to iconic representations of women and to continually promote positive depictions of women around the world. Link

Maria Daniel Balcazar: MiamiPhotoFest is pleased to team up with Burn Books to present Maria Daniel Balcazar's  "Kilombo", an intimate and powerful documentary project that captures the Afro-Brazilian culture.Link

FujiFilm Camera: Fujifilm Loan Program Get a real feel for what Fujifilm is all about, pick one camera body and any two lenses for a trial period of three days.

Leica Camera: Leica on Loan program will provide guests with the opportunity to try a Leica for 24 hours free of charge.

Michael Itkoff: a conversation on publishing, curating, and portfolio editing by co-founder of Daylight books.
