Saint-Laurent Libraries Combine Environment and Literature for the Holidays!

SAINT-LAURENT, QC, Nov. 27, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - The Borough's traditional annual used book sale was once again a big success. Saint-Laurent's residents turned out in large numbers at the Bibliothèque du Boisé on Saturday, November 24 to buy books for less than $1. Nearly 10,000 books in good condition, weeded out from the collections of Saint-Laurent's two libraries, were on sale. Residents were also able to buy Christmas gifts with due consideration for the environment, as this year, an eco-wrapping area was made available to them. They were also encouraged to bring reusable bags to carry home their findings. The sale took place in a friendly atmosphere, with music in the background.

"Beyond their major cultural and social role, Saint-Laurent's libraries fully contribute toward defending the environment that is so important to our Administration and our residents," mentioned Saint-Laurent Mayor Alan DeSousa as a reminder. This was the case with this annual sale, which not only gave as many people as possible access to all kinds of literature, but also, as the holiday season approaches, provided them with an opportunity to please their loved ones in a responsible way, with ecological packaging and reusable bags."
