Ooze Donates 100% of Pink Proceeds to Shades of Pink Foundation

OAK PARK, Mich., Nov. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Ooze, a vaporizer and smoking accessories company based in Metro Detroit, has teamed up with the Shades of Pink Foundation for their October Breast Cancer Awareness charitable campaign. Throughout October, 100 percent of sales from all pink Ooze products were pledged to benefit a charity that helps those affected by the disease.

Ooze Wholesale proudly donates to the Shade of Pink Foundation.

"Shades of Pink is a Southeast Michigan community-based organization," said Jaye Scuillo, Executive Director of Shades of Pink Foundation. "This donation is taking care of two separate families this holiday season. They won't have to choose between paying rent and buying their medications."

In addition to battling for their own health, many breast cancer patients struggle with extreme financial burdens that accompany the sickness. Many have to choose between making a mortgage or bill payment or purchasing the vital medicines they need to help keep them alive.

A common drug in treating the disease retails at roughly $10,000 per month. Depending on insurance coverage, the cost of being sick can be astronomical. Of the 8,000 Michigan women diagnosed each year, roughly 2,400 of them will lose their jobs due to needing so much time off for treatment. The stress of being both sick and out of work can be unbearable, and only furthers the detriment of health.

"Shades of Pink provides financial support by assisting with utility bills, rent and mortgage payments, COBRA payments, day care fees, transportation costs and other bills," said Scuillo. "By paying bills directly, thus relieving patients of that burden, we are giving them the opportunity to move forward with cancer treatments."

Throughout October, Ooze raised $4,637 from the sales of their pink products and accessories on oozelife.com. Ooze donated the amount in full to Shades of Pink, which will directly benefit two families in the Metro Detroit area over the holidays.

"We chose Shades of Pink because they work right here in our neighborhood," said Ooze Chief Financial Officer Vince Ayar. "We want to stay in our community and help our people out."
