Guns.com launches major new online gun marketplace

BURNSVILLE, Minn., Nov. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Guns.com (www.guns.com) is revolutionizing the world of online gun sales.  Long considered one of the best and most well-informed news and content sites for gun enthusiasts, Guns.com is expanding to offer consumers and local gun store owners an alternative to other online gun sale sites.

Guns.com has launched a new online firearms marketplace, aimed at creating a vastly improved online buying and selling experience for consumers and local gun stores. With a focus on a vast selection of new and used guns, an easy to navigate site, industry best service, and supporting local gun stores, Guns.com is the best place to buy guns online.

"Through our years in the industry talking with thousands of people, we realized there was a need by both sellers and buyers for a better alternative.  We've invested heavily in technology, infrastructure, and people to change how guns are sold online," said Chris Callahan, Founder of Guns.com.

Guns.com has a long history of supporting gun ownership in America, and believes the new operation will support these values.

"Our core philosophy is about informing, empowering, and equipping gun owners and local gun stores," says Callahan.  "Of utmost importance to us is keeping things local, providing the best service in the industry, and being responsible citizens to our partners and customers."

Keeping it Local

Selling new and used guns, Guns.com is creating a network of Licensed Gun Stores that list their inventory on the site.  If a consumer buys a gun on Guns.com and the local dealer has it in stock, they'll be able to pick it up directly from that dealer.  "Dealers are frustrated when online retailers ship new guns to them for a consumer when they already had it on their shelf.  At Guns.com, if that store has it in stock, we want to sell theirs first ? dealers want to make money selling guns, not transfers."  Callahan continues, "This means that money is kept in the local community, and allows smaller businesses to thrive."

Bringing Service to a New Level

Not only has Guns.com invested in technology to create a simple, efficient, and clear website, they've also invested in people.  Guns.com has hired a staff of "Rangemasters", ready to help shoppers and gun store owners navigate the world of online gun selling.

"Consumers often don't know what they're getting into when they buy a gun online.  How does it work?  What paperwork is needed?  Am I going to get what I ordered?  These are not questions anyone should have to ask when spending hundreds or thousands of dollars.  Guns.com will do the work that other sites make the consumer do ? we help the consumer find a pickup location, we make sure all necessary licenses are obtained, and we handle any returns," says Callahan.  "Consumers have expectations around an ecommerce experience that hasn't been fulfilled in the gun industry.  Guns.com is changing that."

At the core of a good ecommerce experience is presentation of products. Online gun marketplaces can be unorganized ? lots of individual products that are hard to understand or compare.  Guns.com has created "Families" that group similar firearms together, making the site easier to navigate and ensuring the consumer knows exactly what they're getting when they order a gun.

Guns.com allows only licensed distributors and sellers with a Federal Firearms License to list products, creating a more controlled environment.  They also handle shipping and returns for the customer, creating the ecommerce experience shoppers have come to expect from other industries.

The news operation at Guns.com will remain unchanged, and will continue to produce the best journalism and content in the industry.  To see the newly released Guns.com, please visit www.guns.com.
