Shepherd Smith Edwards & Kantas LLP Investigating Claims Involving Douglas Simanski And Next Financial Services

HOUSTON, Nov. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Lawyers with the Securities Law Firm of SHEPHERD SMITH EDWARDS & KANTAS LLP, www.sseklaw.com, are investigating claims involving Douglas Simanski and Next Financial Services.  Simanski worked as a broker for Next from 1999-2016, when he was fired by Next for allegedly selling fictious investments and stealing the clients' money.  Recently he also pled guilty to criminal charges relating to his scheme stealing millions of dollars from clients for years.  There are also twenty-three publicly reported customer lawsuits which have been filed by some of Kaplan's clients alleging churning of customer accounts or other financial mismanagement.

According to the criminal complaint, Simanski fabricated contracts for "Tax Free Investments" and Certificates of Deposit that  supposedly came with various guaranteed return rates and payouts, including supposed investments in a car rental company, a coal mining company, or others.  Simanski also purportedly used investor money to repay other investors to try to prevent discovery.

Current and former clients of Simanski should carefully review their accounts to ensure that there were not problems.  Contact the law firm of Shepherd, Smith, Edwards & Kantas LLP for an evaluation of your account to determine if you might have a claim to attempt to recover some or all of your losses.  All communications will be kept strictly confidential, and you will not be billed in any way for a consultation.
