KAID Health to Lead Several Clinical Natural Language Understanding Discussions at HIMSS 2023

KAID Health, an AI-powered healthcare data analysis and provider engagement platform, will demonstrate its industry-leading Clinical Natural Language Understanding (cNLU) technology at HIMSS 2023. During three different sessions, CEO Kevin Agatstein will showcase how the company's partnerships with The Villages Health (TVH) and UC San Diego Health (UCSD) help these already high-performing providers be more efficient and effective. In addition, KAID Health team members will showcase its Whole Chart Analysistm and NLITEtm (Natural Language Insight & Term Extraction) technology in booth #6009-17 at the Innovation Hub/Startup Park.

"KAID Health is proud to highlight our work on the HIMSS stage with The Villages Health and UC San Diego Health?allowing each of these organizations to provide high-quality, lower-cost, and/or more appropriately reimbursed care," shared Kevin Agatstein, CEO of KAID Health. "Our mission remains the same in Florida, California, and everywhere in between. KAID Health ensures that all patient data, including unstructured notes, drives the right actions at the point of care. Whether paid fee-for-service, capitated, or anything in between, Whole Chart Analysistm and NLITEtm can improve revenue capture, make costly providers more efficient, and drive better care delivery."

Natural Language Understanding for VBC: Uncover Revenue and Disease Burdens
With Kevin Agatstein and Dr. Jeffrey Lowenkron, MD, MPP, Chief Medical Officer at The Villages Health (TVH), on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, 12:30 ? 1:00 PM CT at the McCormick Center, South Building S104. They will detail how TVH, a 75-physician multi-specialty group in Central Florida, operating under value-based care (VBC) model (full-risk capitation), was able to identify previously hard-to-access clinical attributes buried in their electronic medical record (EMR) in at least 15% of its senior patient population. In addition to better care, this generated $2.5M in net new revenue from improved coding.

Building America's Healthiest Hometown with Nature Language Processing
With Kevin Agatstein and Dr. Jeffrey Lowenkron, MD, MPP, Chief Medical Officer at The Villages Health, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 9:45 AM CT at the Innovation Hub Stage, Tradeshow floor. They will detail how TVH captures patient attributes from their structured EMR data and unstructured medical notes at scale. By solving critical technical, clinical, and workflow challenges, The Villages Health with KAID Health demonstrates how health systems today have already realized the promise of NLP to improve hierarchical condition category (HCC) coding and quality score in tandem.

Doctor vs. AI: Clinical Natural Language Processing for Preoperative Care
Join Kevin Agatstein and Dr. Rodney Gabriel, MD, MA at UCSD, on Thursday, April 20, 2023, 3:00-3:30 PM CT at the McCormick Center, South Building S104. They will cover peer-reviewed research, "Doctor vs. AI," that was led by Dr. Gabriel at UCSD's Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Perioperative Informatics. This session will detail how KAID Health's natural language processing (NLP) engine significantly aligned with the clinician reviewers in completing a preoperative checklist and identified 16.6% of instances where the anesthesiologist did not find the presence or absence of a specific condition. The most common conditions the NLP pipeline captured that the anesthesiologist did not include cardiac arrhythmias, angina, anticoagulation, and neuromuscular disease.

To meet with the KAID Health team in booth #6009-17, Innovation Hub/ Startup Park, in Chicago, IL, from April 17 ? April 21, please contact [email protected].
