COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update
QUÉBEC CITY, March 2, 2023 /CNW/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:
559 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,317,352*;
9 new deaths, for a total of 18,114 deaths, i.e.;
2 deaths in the last 24 hours,
2 deaths that occurred between two and seven days ago,
5 deaths that occurred more than seven days ago; NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.
1,909 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
1,325 hospitalizations, including 446 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 47 compared to the previous day;
126 new entries,
79 new discharges;
31 people in intensive care, including 18 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 5 compared to the previous day;
10 new entries,
5 new discharges;
7,223 samples conducted on February 28;
325,183 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 274,429 positive: 42 declared for yesterday, including 38 positive.
*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.
Vaccination
2 127 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 22,928,095 doses received by Quebecers.
