Soloviev Foundation Donates $250,000 to Fight Child Exploitation

The Soloviev Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Soloviev Group, today announced a $250,000 donation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to create a new international platform to combat child exploitation.

The first-of-its-kind, online Global Child Sexual Exploitation Policy Platform will be an information-sharing and advocacy clearinghouse on global policy issues impacting children who are being abused and exploited around the world. NCMEC will use the platform to drive global change in combatting child sexual exploitation by sharing data-driven advocacy, unique analysis and expertise, as well as global legislative and policy updates.

It will also include recommendations for legislators and policymakers, NGOs, media, and the public concerning global policy impacting online child sexual exploitation.

Just recently the NCMEC has partnered with federal law enforcement regarding child sextortion, which is an increasing problem globally. https://www.fbi.gov/news/press-releases/press-releases/fbi-and-partners-issue-national-public-safety-alert-on-financial-sextortion-schemes.

"Child sexploitation is a global and growing problem. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is the leading organization fighting sexploitation and sextortion of minors. The Soloviev Foundation is pleased to help establish this platform that can bring a unified global approach to child sexploitation and sextortion," said Stefan Soloviev, chairman of the Soloviev Group.

In 2021 alone, NCMEC received more than 29 million reports of child sexual exploitation, more than 90 percent of which originated outside of the U.S.

The new platform is designed to help bring global policies that elevate the protection of children online.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (www.ncmec.org) is a private, nonprofit organization created as a grassroots response to an unthinkable tragedy, the abduction and murder of 6-year-old Adam Walsh in the early 1980s. The Walsh family channeled their grief and came together with other child advocates to create NCMEC in 1984. In the past 38 years, NCMEC has grown to become the leading nonprofit organization and the nation's congressionally designated clearinghouse on missing and exploited children issues.

NCMEC's mission is to serve as a resource center for families, survivors, law enforcement, child-serving professionals, and the public to help find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation and prevent child victimization. NCMEC operates the CyberTipline, a centralized reporting mechanism where the public and electronic service providers (ESPs) can make reports of suspected child sexual exploitation including online enticement of children for sexual acts, child sexual molestation, child sexual abuse material, child sex tourism, child sex trafficking, and unsolicited obscene materials sent to a child.
