Kalamazoo Valley Community College College Celebrates Veterans Day with Numerous Activities
Kalamazoo Valley Community College will recognize Veterans Day 2022 with several events on its Texas Township Campus Nov. 10 and 11. All events are free and open to the public.

The schedule includes:
- Thursday, Nov. 10
6:30 p.m. Modern Warrior Live video presentation in Room 9130
- Friday, Nov. 11
7:30 a.m. Flag raising ceremony at Flag Pole Entrance
1 p.m. Modern Warrior Live video presentation in Room 9130
5:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. Veteran's Recognition Men's and Women's Basketball Games
Kalamazoo Valley vs. Milwaukee Technical College in the Main. Featuring: Color Guard presentation, free T-shirts for veterans and/or dependents. Admission is free!
"I am very pleased we will be presenting the film version of Modern Warrior LIVE to the public this year," said Charles Heidelberg, veteran services coordinator and public service advisor at the college.
Modern Warrior LIVE is a uniquely immersive narrative and music experience that chronicles one veteran's journey. U.S. Army Veteran Jaymes Poling shares the story of his three deployments in Afghanistan and subsequent transition back home. Watch the trailer here.
"For our Global War on Terror veterans at Kalamazoo Valley, this is an opportunity to continue processing their experiences, and for our Kalamazoo Valley community it is a chance to learn about the veteran experience of the last 20 years," Heidelberg said.
Kalamazoo Valley welcomes more than 250 veterans and their dependents to campus each year. A dedicated Veteran Services office assists with access to resources at the college and the community to ensure a successful transition from military life to civilian life in an educational setting.
